Steven P. Ross is a founder and principal partner of the firm. He concentrates his practice in various business, banking and real estate law specialties including commercial loan originations and loan restructuring (including multi-bank credits) pertinent to asset-based loans, commercial real estate construction and end loan financings, lines of credit, letters of credit, factoring, leasing and other financing vehicles; as well as loan workouts; commercial litigation; real estate and business transactions. Mr. Ross regularly consults with lenders, as well as emerging and established businesses, regarding their financial and business concerns.

Mr. Ross, who is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, earned his law degree from Boston College Law School in 1977 where he was editor-in-chief of the Boston College International And Comparative Law Review (1975-1976). He earned his B.A. degree, with High Distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1974. Mr. Ross serves as a panel member for the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board (1998 to present). He formerly served as a member of the commercial panel of mediators for the Wayne County Mediation Tribunal and the Real Property Law Section of the Michigan Bar Association (committee on Business Entities and Investment Vehicles). Michael J. Thomas is a principal partner of the firm. He specializes his practice in a wide range of commercial matters including business formation, business organizations and management; acquisitions and reorganizations; real estate development; commercial loan documentation; creditors' rights; bankruptcy; loan workouts; mortgage foreclosures and commercial litigation. Mr. Thomas represents a broad range of clients including banks, new and established business entities, and individuals.

Mr. Thomas, who is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell,  graduated With Distinction from Wayne State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He earned his law degree in 1987 and his Masters in Tax Law in 1994 both from Wayne State University Law School.

William R. Huffman is a partner of the firm. His practice includes the representation of clients in business, real estate and commercial transitions, litigation and dispute resolution, including with respect to commercial loan documentation, work outs, and enforcement; creditors' rights (including collection and bankruptcy matters); equipment, materials and product acquisition, supply and distribution transactions; real estate development and construction matters (including negotiation and drafting of construction contracts); real estate and personal property acquisitions, leasing and transfers; business formation and organizational matters (for both for profit and nonprofit entities); agent, consultant, and employee contractual matters; and general commercial transaction and litigation matters. Mr. Huffman has also handled worker’s compensation matters, as well as, probate matters, estate planning and matters involving the elderly and disabled. Mr. Huffman represents a variety of clients ranging from large corporations to individuals. His representation of large corporations includes the coordination of high profile multi-state litigation and discovery matters. 

Mr. Huffman graduated from the University of Michigan in 1991 with a B.A. degree in Economics. He obtained his law degree in 1994 from Mississippi College School of Law where he was a member of the Law Review. Mr. Huffman received a Masters of Tax Law degree from Wayne State University School of Law in 1998.

Eric J. Carmichael practices in the general areas of commercial transactions and business law. Mr. Carmichael’s specific areas of practice include: commercial litigation, loan workouts, creditors' rights, receiverships, bankruptcy, mortgage foreclosures, loan origination, PACA and business formation/management. Mr. Carmichael graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A., with high honors, in 2003. He earned his law degree at Wayne State University in 2006.  Mr. Carmichael became a member of the State Bar of Michigan in 2006, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute.
